Critical-Run respects your privacy. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, just email us at chris@critical-run.com and we'll be glad to explain.

What we collect

- Order information. When you buy something, we receive your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you give one, and the details of your order. Wix and Printful use this to take payment and make and ship your items.

- Messages you send us. If you email us, use our contact form, or send in a story or guest request, we keep what you send so we can reply.

- Email signups. If you sign up for our email list, we collect your email address and, if you choose to give them, your first name and the kind of work you do or how you connect to it (for example EMS, fire, dispatch, law enforcement, nursing, military, or family and supporter). You only tell us as much as you want to.

- Automatic information. Like most websites, our site receives some information automatically, such as your device and browser type, IP address, the pages you view, and how you got here. See "Cookies" below.

Email signups and marketing emails

We only add you to our email list if you ask us to, for example by filling in a signup form and checking the box that says you'd like to hear from us. We don't add people who haven't signed up, and we don't buy or rent email lists.

If you join, we may email you about new podcast episodes, new gear, sales and gift ideas, and occasional free resources. We try to keep it useful and not too often. We use Wix's email tools to send these messages, so Wix handles your email address on our behalf.

Signing up for emails is separate from buying something. Placing an order does not automatically put you on our marketing list unless you also check the box to join.

Unsubscribe

You can leave our email list at any time. Every marketing email we send has an "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom. Click it and you'll be removed. You can also email chris@critical-run.com and ask us to take you off, and we'll do it. We'll honor your request promptly, and no later than 10 business days.

Even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still send you messages about an order you placed, such as a receipt, shipping update, or a reply to a question you asked. Those aren't marketing.

Cart reminder emails

If you start checkout, enter your email address, and then leave without finishing, we may send you one or two friendly reminder emails with a link back to your cart. These are sent through our Wix store tools. They are meant to be helpful, not pushy, and each one has an unsubscribe link. If you complete your order or unsubscribe, the reminders stop. We don't send cart reminders to people who haven't given us their email address.

Cookies are small files that a website saves in your browser. We and the tools we use (Wix, and our payment and analytics tools) use cookies and similar technologies to:

- keep the site working, such as remembering what is in your cart and keeping checkout secure,

- understand how people use the site, such as which pages are most popular, so we can improve it, and

- help prevent fraud and spam.

Cookies on our site are not used to sell your personal information. You can control cookies in your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. If you do, parts of the site, such as the cart and checkout, may not work as expected. Where our site shows a cookie banner, you can use it to make your choices.

Payments and fulfillment

Wix, Printful, and our payment processors handle the order, payment, and shipping information needed to complete your purchase. We don't store your full card number. Because our items are made to order, your name and shipping address are shared with Printful and the shipping carrier so your order can be printed and delivered.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

- fill and ship your orders and provide customer support,

- send the emails you asked for (see above),

- run, protect, and improve our site and shop,

- prevent fraud and misuse, and

- follow the law.

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the shop and the show (such as Wix, Printful, payment processors, and email and analytics tools), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others. These services are only supposed to use your information to do their job for us.

How long we keep it

We keep order records as long as we need them for taxes, accounting, and handling returns or questions. We keep your email on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. We keep messages you send us as long as we need them to help you.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it, subject to what the law allows (for example, we may need to keep order records for tax reasons). You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Just email chris@critical-run.com.

Children

Our site and shop are meant for adults and for parents and guardians buying on behalf of a family. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, please email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. If the changes are big, we'll make that clear on the site.
